On December 4, 2024, ChooseWell Communities proudly celebrated its 6th graduating class — an emotional, meaningful milestone in our 10th year of walking alongside families in recovery. This year’s celebration was especially historic as we graduated our first cohort of fathers, standing tall beside the many strong mothers who have long been part of our program’s legacy.

ChooseWell Communities is not a short-term program. Our model is built on the understanding that lasting recovery takes time, trust, and a strong foundation. Participants typically stay with us for three years, reflecting research that shows three consecutive years of sobriety leads to significantly increased long-term success. During that time, they receive wraparound support including housing, workforce development, peer support, trauma-informed parenting classes, and community connection.

This year’s graduates achieved incredible milestones, including:

• Maintaining sobriety for at least three years

• Reunifying with their children

• Securing stable employment

• Finding safe, affordable housing (Many have setting their sights on homeownership through the Louisville Metro Housing Authority’s Section 8 Homeownership Program!)

Graduation at ChooseWell is more than a ceremony—it’s a celebration of transformation, resilience, and the power of compassionate community. We are so proud of this class and what they represent: a future where families heal and cycles are broken.
