Meet our New Executive Director, Monet Becker!

Meet our newest hire, Monet Becker! Monet joins the team with extensive experience in non-profit, mental health, and substance abuse treatment work, including grant writing and community collaboration.

“I am honored for the opportunity to serve one of Louisville’s most vulnerable, yet often underserved, populations—families with young children who are impacted by parental substance misuse. Every family deserves to live in a safe, healthy, and substance-free home and to be supported by a loving, recovery-minded community. What a gift it is to serve these families and ChooseWell Communities," said Becker. A graduate of Western Kentucky University and native Kentuckian, she has most recently spent 5 years in Hawaii, working as an Administrator at both Behavioral Health Hawai’i & Maui Recovery, as a Program Representative and Maui County Coordinator for People Attentive to Children (PATCH), and as an early childhood educational advisor for the State of Hawaii.

And Our New Home, Sanctuary Church!

Additionally, after outgrowing the previous office space generously rented from New Directions Housing Corporation, ChooseWell is now leasing space from Sanctuary Church at 930 Mary Street. Located in a central part of Germantown, the lease gives ChooseWell the opportunity to use common areas, including kitchen and community spaces, childcare space and play areas, and collaborative space for programming for parents. There is also ample off-street parking.

“We are super excited to welcome ChooseWell to Sanctuary Church. We believe in ChooseWell’s mission of bringing wholeness, recovery, and healing to recovering parents and their young children. We hope we can be a resource and partner with ChooseWell to let these families and their children know how much they matter and that nothing is stronger than love,” said Robert Pitman, Lead Pastor of Sanctuary Church.

(Please note: though our physical address is on Mary Street, any mail should be directed to P.O. Box 2906, Louisville, KY 40201.)
